First Test
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Wed, 2018-12-05 12:01Look away now Pirate and Merman, this thread doesn't contain reds or whites or even pink bits.
Looking forward to seeing what C7 brings to the coverage after C9 really stagnated since the departure of Richie and Tony. Hopefully we don't see a flat Adelaide pitch.
And finally after years of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result an Australian XI contains 4 bowlers, a wicky and 6 batters. Unless we have a bloke that averages both over 35 with the bat and under 30 with the ball in the Shield then we shouldn’t be considering playing an all-rounder. I'm backing our bowling attack to get the job done over the summer.

Few yabbies in the new dam
Submitted by Bryce Day on Fri, 2018-11-30 21:01Just checked a yabbie dam we stocked last year, didn’t have a trap so just threw a banksia bush in the side. A few little ones in there so they are breeding.

Camping & Yabbies/Fishing with family ideas
Submitted by Francis on Thu, 2018-11-29 12:11Hi all,
The kids have just gotten old enough to enjoy camping (2 yrs) and they seem to really enjoy it - as does the dog. Which is excellent for me as I can finally do what I really love again.
The problem is I only know extremely popular spots (Eg. Axelander Bridge), reasonably secluded spots or spots in national parks.
I'm hoping to take the gang out camping over the x-mas break which will likely be hard enough given everyone will have the same idea. So I'm curious to know if anyone has (or knows anyone that has) a private property that would permit camping with kids, dogs and has the ability to either wet a line or hunt some yabbies ? I reckon the kids would absolutely love catching yabbies on a string and I'm thinking a private property would help avoid the crowds - for a fee of course. I've found a few sites that come close, but wanted to throw this question out on the forum before I try to finalise a location.
Keen to hear if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks !

I have 15mm between the transom and an extended centre point of where the ram will end. Not sure I have enough space.

Trailer Maintenance / Rust
Submitted by bsir on Fri, 2018-11-23 09:20So the time has come for a little TLC on the trailer.
As the photos below show there is some rust starting to show. Some is patchy through the galvanising, in other section, the galvanising has warn away completely.
The trailer itself is about 10 years old and i know isnt going to last forever, so i want to prolong its life for a reasonable period. I am not planning on completely stripping it and regalvanising.
I was thinking of using a coating like POR15 or Rust Bullet on the outside, then maybe soaking the inside of the RHS in tectyl or fish oil.
I was wandering if anyone has done similar, or has any recommendations of coatings that have worked well, or not worked well.
Thanks

AFL Draft
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Fri, 2018-11-23 08:06Don't the AFL love to stretch out the news cycle holding the draft over two days. Trust Sydney to find a draft loophole as well to keep their 2nd round pick and still get their academy player.
I try not to get too excited about the draft since the Tom 'the best 16y old in the country' Swift flop but I am stoked that Ian Hill has made it to our first pick. The go home factor with two cousins at Freo obviously spooked a few clubs and I expect that West Coast will snap him up first thing but the Valente kid looks like a solid pick too.

Prado tyres.
Submitted by Sea goat on Fri, 2018-11-23 07:27hi guys. Wondering if I could get some advice. Have a 2016 diesel prado gal, and have just worn out the standardtryes and looking to upgrade to something a bit more aggressive. I do use it as a daily vehicle so will be a lot if freeway driving, but also do a bit of beach driving which I hope to do a lot more if in the future. Most of the tracks have quite a bit of cap rock etc so thinking some thicker sidewalks may be a good idea.
so far I’m thinking coopers at3 Lts, 265/70r17 121/118s.
i haven’t had much experience with 4wd tyres in the past, so any advice or personal experience greatly appreciated!
given the tyres above are a bit bigger, are they likely to throw off Speedo etc or loose power when towing? (Obviously, towing the boat is a big factor too :))
cheers!

Boat insurance claims
Submitted by Paulpowis on Wed, 2018-11-21 10:05Hi just wondering if anyone has recently made a claim on boat insurance as I’m currently going through one now!!!!I have impacted something in shallow water which has damaged the prop but at the same time it has sheared the steering arm(solid steel ).It is an inboard motor so it’s a major repair job(motor and leg removed).Insurance is saying they will only cover the cost of the damaged prop but not the steering arm which broke due to the impact...
Has anyone else had a recent experience or could advise me on the best way to go about this issue.
Much appreciated

Geraldton
Submitted by Doc on Tue, 2018-11-20 17:33Spent the day in Geraldton today. Got my feet wet at the beach, had a ripper feed at the Archipeligo restaurant, and came back to find some wanker has stolen my spare wheel off the back of my cruiser. Would have had to have a wheel brace and some bolt cutters to remove a lock. Cost me nearly another $500 to replace it as we did before we left.

Ribbed or smooth - important stuff
Submitted by Swompa on Wed, 2018-11-14 20:39I have asked the mrs if she wants ribbed or smooth and she said smooth. Previously I had ribbed because that's what the boat came with, but I think smooth looks better, mainly because I can't cut straight lines.
Is there an advantage to one type of carpet or the other? Smooth is cheaper and I am a fan of cheaper.
