Banax GT 5000
Submitted by Albee Mangles on Wed, 2008-09-10 12:10Has anyone had any experience with these reels? I'm looking for a tough, well priced reel for use of my Kayak for light jigging, bottom bouncing stuff, with 40lb braid. They seem to be a well constructed reel, with solid componentry. I have 2 of the small si reels and they are proving reliable.

Any comments?

Light reel
Submitted by 7739ian on Wed, 2008-09-03 09:52Any recommendations on a light spinning combo for boat use - KG's etc? I bought a Shimano Slade SL 1000 and took it to Shark Bay - should have left it there - too light and the line kept getting caught under the bottom of the spool - a cheap piece of poo.

Online swag purchasing
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2008-06-16 17:08Hey crew,
I'm looking to purchase a new and upgraded swag in the near future and with lack of buying options in Exmouth I am following up with an online purchase. Has anyone bought a swag off the net, know of any goods stores that are reputable and have reasonable prices?
I have looked on E-bay but am a little wary as to a sale gone bad not long ago. The prices are very tempting from what I've seen, has anyone bought one of a reputable seller before they can recommend?
Ultimately, I'm looking for a single rollout, multi layered type job thats easy and durable for where I will be using it. I'm looking to spend upto 500, but would obviously like a cheap good option as it is to be tax deductible. A photo of what I'm looking to buy would be good too.
Cheers,
Adam

What rod for a Curado 300DSV?
Submitted by till on Tue, 2008-03-04 16:32Hi,
this reel is rated to 200m of 8kg mono, no idea for braid & 7kg drag? I picked one up when someone upgraded to a saltist.
I wanted to get something to use this, perhaps off the rocks to toss a a few lures and mulies, but not too long as I might use it on my brother's boat. Perhaps up to 7-8', light tip, but some butt stiffness.
Anyone got some suggestions? How hard is it to swap spools on these? Perhaps I could swap spools for some heavier stuff offshore?
Anyone got the Shimano Tiralejo 8'? Something else out there similar, but jointed in the foregrip? Any other recommendations?
Thanks,
Till

Anyone picked up a bargain on Ebay
Submitted by Paul N on Wed, 2008-01-09 17:41Searching the fishing section on Ebay and wondering if anyone has picked up a bargain. I just got some skirted lures from there and was surprised at the quality for the price.
Has anyone else had a good or bad buy from Ebay?

Shimano Fire Blood Spinning Rods
Submitted by max199 on Thu, 2007-12-13 19:59G'Day All, I own a tica graphite rod(graphite extreme) and I'm looking to update. I like playing fish as does everyone and have found these awsome rods from Shimano. They are called Fire Blood range of spinning rods. I went tonight and handled one , hell it was insane looking and felt great. As the price is around the $500 mark I'm wondering if anyone owns one and are they worth every cent?? The lad there loaded one up for me whilst I was hanging on the other end and they have some balls too!

New soft plastic craze!
Submitted by SPESS on Fri, 2007-11-09 06:53Have just got a good report off a mate in the tornament seen over east. "Stimulate" the makers of the patened "Ultrabite" range of burley's etc are making plastics! There 100% biodagradable and they are made from human food grade material! They come in 3 ranges so far: SLAM paddletail, SLAM minnow, SLAM Jerk shad.
They come in a little Bag as usall but its filled with ultrabite stimulate as well. To top if off you just put the plastic back in its packet to reapply the sent. They say that they are deadly worked but catch just as many fish dead sticking as well, so you can use it like bait!
Won me over, ive got a couple of free samples on the way to test for them :)

Owners reply only!
Submitted by SPESS on Thu, 2007-10-04 14:02Now this subject has been flogged through and through but im not yet satisfied! I want to buy either a Stella 20000 or a Saltiga expodition. Please if you have owned both (not just used one because ive used both myself!) Or owned either one for a while could you please give me your likes and dislikes on these reels. Ive heard and seen both stellas and saltigas fail before so its just a final toss up for me.
Have you had any problems?
If so what?
Did you buy one then change to the other?
If so why?
And just a general feed back from "OWNERS" of these reels to see what they think could be better with each one. Please just supply info on the requested reels above no other models as this is all im interested in.
Cheers Chris, muchly appreciated.
