Has any one put one of these to use and abuse with 30 or 40lb. Dont want any shimano recommendations, although the sustain fg 5000 gives me a slight tingling feeling in the pants.

wana to order small screw for my spinning reel, and tried to call shimano centre this morning, and the staff named Lois, grabed my part number, address, and credit card number and expiry date. Then, he said he may not be able talking to me now, then leave.

Im looking at using my Stella 20k off the boat but also on land for kayaking out baits. Im interested in the demon blood rods- are these good rods? How would the one piece (db 56) pe3-5 go with my 50 pound line? Where should I get one? Cheers!

wanting to buy a spinning reel for 20lb braid, using for light bottom bashing and soft plastics. my budget is around $250

at the moment i am tossing up between the stradic fj 5000, or the saragosa 5000. 

was just seeing what others opinions were on the subject or if there are any other reels that would suit?

For all you shark and LBG fishos out there...whats the largest capacity castable overhead reel available? Torium 50?  Are they are a bitch to cast??

Spinning reels just dont have the capacity if you want to target oversize noahs....but unless you are paddling/swimming the bait out you have to cast it.

Any suggestions?

Seriously considering buying this reel. I wanna use it for a bit of everything really. Primary focus will be driftbaiting and occy/pirate style jigs but would also like to use demersal jigs to about 150g. Will run a top quality PE2 braid on it.

So far i've looked at the Saltiga Bay Jigging rod which is lovely, but maybe a little too soft in the tip for my liking, but im open for suggestions. Also checked out a similar Smith rod with spiral wrap guides.

I prefer split grip because it looks SEXY.

Also very interested in Majorcraft rods. Any dealers in Perth?

Price not really an issue. An expensive reel deserves an expensive rod.

looking to purchase a nice new low profile baitcaster to use for squidding, herring, whiting, skippy ect.

The main one i am looking at this stage is the Daiwa Saltist Hard Rock Fish type II

just wondering if anyone on here has one of these as yet?

either that or if any of you can recommend a better option? i do love my Daiwa reels but am open to other suggestions

price range is about $250 - $300

just bought a new baitrunner 6000D, want to get some advice on what rod can perfect match this reel.

i used to land base fishing, just new to baitfishing, wana use it to chasing mulloway, snapper from shore. maybe need a big rod around 10-12 ft, and I may run 20-30lb line maybe.

I am after a good bait caster how ever I have only used one (my Abu Garcia revo inshore) i personaly prefere bait caster reels. my inshore can't cast the 3gram lures I use sometimes for bream fishing. Are there any bait casters that will do this? I do like the look of the mgx Is this a good reel?

I would just like to report on some great service I received.  

A few weeks ago I snapped my hearty rise sylphy at quobba.  It snapped just above the first guide while I was fighting a fish which was a bit of a surprise and left me a bit dissapointed.  I had the rod for a couple of years but it is a heavy spinning rod that I only used on trips north a couple of times a year.

So I took what I had left into Oceanside explained what happened and they went about contacting the hearty rise rep and the rod has been replaced with a brand new sylphy series 2

I am extremely happy with the result so once again thanks Oceanside and hearty rise

I am lookingat purchasing a penn international trolling reel. 

My first question is should I buy either a 50 Vsw or an 80 Vsw 

My second question do I need a straight butt or a bent butt

Is a 80 over kill or will a 50 do the job

Should I get rollered or guide and what brand and models are good

My fishing will be mainly trolling for pelegics from Mahi Mahi to marlin. I also like to catch (and release) sharks. Tuna is also on the menu. I live in Perth however I am planning to do more fishing in abrohlis and exmouth.

My budget is about 800 for the reel and 800 for the rod.

What do you suggest?

Hopefully someone can help ... I have searched all the web sites I know and still cant find the rod that I'd like .. I want a good 10' / 11' rod for overhead casting .. Must have trigger and be softer in the top section than high modulus graphite or carbon blank rods .. Would prefer a composite rod and will be running 30 / 40lb braid backing on the reel .. throwing 85 gram slices .. I already have an Aureas 6911, USA imported Emblem over head, and Silstar crystal 10 foot overhead rod ... To be honest the crystal casts much better due to the smooth action the full glass tip gives and has good power due to the stiffer main section .. almost the perfect rod, just no trigger and is a little light for the Trini ( perfect for the Torque 100 though ) .. Short of making my own rod up or buying a Daiwa sensor surf 11' with the trigger ( key feature im looking for ) but just hasnt got the right top section im looking for ... Has anyone got any suggestions?

I'm tossing up between the Shimano Stradic Ci4 1000F or 2500F to pair with a AJN 5ft 6 carbon rod.

Looking for something similar in size to my Pflueger Patriarch 9530. How small are the Ci4 1000F compared to the 2500F and Patriarch 9530?

Goin on sat with them and not expecting much fish, purely based on past experiences with bottom bouncing charters from perth.

Any info on what gear they use etc? deciding wether to bring our own.

What are everybodies favourite trolling lure, in make, size , colour pattern and  running depth .Has anybody used the Yo Zuri Magnum Deep Divers with the weight attachment point ?

    Has any one tried the products that are on this web site ?  They look good, seem a tad expensive for some flys.

    Will probably give them a try, i would like to gain a fair margin of bragging rights over another member of this site

    as a fishing charter is coming up and neither of us like to come second.

Just thought id post this up to see what other Stradic 2500/3000FJ owners are running as their rod.

Just looking at buying a 3000 FJ for myself(want the extra line capacity for when i use it out in the boat) and wanted to see what the most common rods others are using.

I intend to use this combo for Small Barra, Saratoga, Tarpon up north. Bream, Trout, and Flatties down here. And for Skippy and Snapper out in the boat. I know there are difffent rods for difffernt applications but considering i have been using a Penn Accord 2000 with Penn Accord Rod for the last 7 years for all these applications i think anything is an upgrade. Actually thought about just getting a Penn Applause 2000 for a while, but thought i might splurge a bit :)

was chasing whiting and flathead over the weekend and realised i have a gap in my fishing arsenal.

the saragosa 8000 and deep jig 200 was a bit overdone for the task.

picked up a Saros 4000f reel with 15lb braid and now looking for a rod.

had a look at the 7foot 2 terez today, bit unsure about the balance. 

anyone have any constructive advise that will give me additional rods to investigate.

and yes i have tried the search function with no help.
