School holiday travel north
Submitted by carnarvonite on Wed, 2014-09-24 20:09For those planning to travel north of Gero on the upcoming school holidays should think very seriously about not driving around Carnarvon after dark. From about 80km south to the Coral bay turnoff there are PLENTY of roos, goats and cattle feeding on the grass along the roadside that has sprouted from recent rains.
A mate drives roadtrains down to Gero and back up each night reckons he sees literally dozens of cattle each way every day and I occasionally drive buses out to the salt mines and again see oodles of roos and cattle both at night and during the day.

Submitted by fishy fingers on Mon, 2014-09-22 18:38I just had a need to get a new antennae for my 09 colorado I coudnt get a non genuine one locally so thpught I would give Holden a try "Yes" He said "we can get one in pretty quick" then he told me the price.....$200 frigging dollars for a crappy little pillar mount antennae! I told him what I thought and told him they can keep it at that price...He agreed it was bullshit!I just orderd one from ebay exactly the same $46 delivered. They must think people are stupid (I suppose some are) what pisses me off they are probably made in the same factory as the non genuine anyway.....I feel better now!

Buy spotties off a truck???
Submitted by saltydog on Sun, 2014-09-21 18:07Hi all,
Just after some help here.
I'm looking at some Rallye 4000 spots (pencil & spread)
They apparently have come off a truck and have 24V bulbs.
The inside of the lens look slightly opaque.
The seller says that it's haze and will clean off!
Now I'm just wondering if this is the case or if these are F'ed
maybe scorched from 24v bulbs....dunno!
I'd need to get 12V bulbs for them anyway or convert them to HID
but my main concern is the glass!
Price is good @ $150 for the pair (no wiring loom but that's no deal breaker!).
Any advice appreciated.

large paw print harvey dam+redfin
Submitted by luke george on Thu, 2014-09-18 18:40A mate and I went to harvey dam this morning to have a go for some redfin, we done well for a change and got around 20 fish albeit small fish. But the thing that has stuck on my mind was a large print we found in the mud. I have attached the photo and was hoping someone here could id it for me or point me to a good source.
Edit: The print was aprox 4in long and 5in wide, found in hardened mud
Cheers guys

cray tales (book)
Submitted by lastcast on Wed, 2014-09-17 22:29hi y'all
Just started reading a book called cray tales (Annie de Monchaux, self published, 1998)
And I can't put it down. It's stories from the cray industry, from the earlies right through.
Francesco Bombara
Louis Krummenacher
Clive Edwards
Clive Willock
Clem Hill
Alf Valenti
Gerry Starling
The MacDonald family
Many more
Here's a quote: " people say 'oh mate, I wish I had your life.' Well you haven't. I've got it."
It's a ripper.

anyone launch at ocean reef yesterday?
Submitted by Rig on Mon, 2014-09-15 10:37Hi Guys
Just noticed yesterday when I drove out through the lead lines at ocean reef there are about 10-15 cray pots setup right where you cross through the 3mile on the lead line WNW direction. It took a bit of zig zagging to get through, wouldnt want to be doing this in the dark and a bit foolish IMO by whoever set them there, they were hard to see just with the amount of swell running

Submitted by petermac on Thu, 2014-09-11 20:04still far and away the best footy show on free to air tv is Marngrook footy show NITV Ch 34 , funny with Gilbert Mcadam and Dough Hawkins mangling the English language . But both are very smart footy brains , with regular appearances of Kevin Bartlet , Dipper and other past legends it leaves it leaves Sam Newman and his footy show for dead
