Hope you don't mind R.C.
Got bored, and noticed something in this picture :)
No giveaways, but just for those who have nothing to do since fwa is down (lol),
Oh, and you could try and guess the weight of the fish too (courtesy of R.C.)

FWA virus warning
Submitted by Andy Mac on Tue, 2006-05-02 19:44Guys, if any of you post on the FWA forums, just watch out for a virus that appears to have infected their site. I received an e-mail supposedly from FWA asking me to click on a link that had some kind of "clicks for cash" type wording on it. I deleted it immediately, but this evening whilst posting on the site quite a few of the other guys said they got an e-mail as well.
When you are in the site and you hit the back button it tries to load up the same cash for clicks biz type site. (Don't quote me on the wording as I deleted the e-mail and exited the site pretty quickly after seeing it load up.) I made one last post alerting the guys to the issue (already logged by a few others too)and from what it appears the administrators are working to resolve it asap. I truly hope they are successful. I'll e-mail Harry tomorrow and hopefully get the all clear to safely return.

Crime Wave
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Tue, 2006-05-02 09:35Just a bit of a mention that there are a fair few thieving mongrels around lately.
About a month ago, Bolts's (skippers) house was gone through and lost a couple of wallets and purse's, they did several houses in the street while they were all asleep.
3 weeks ago a Malaysian guy that I work for had a laptop, psp, his girlfriends jewellery, shoes and passports stolen from the broadwater pagoda units.

Mitchell Nautilus 6500gv
Submitted by Bad Bubby on Sat, 2006-04-15 18:07Hey guys, great site, some good footage esp of the samson jigging. I've been thinking of eventually getting into the jigging scene in my local area (North Qld). There seems to be one of a small selection of powerful small reels that wont set you back quadruple figures. Has anyone used the Mitchell Nautilus 6500gv successfully in WA (or anywhere) in the brutal world of jigging?

Fishwrecked Indoor Cricket
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2006-04-03 23:21Well, the fishwrecked indoor cricket season got off to a flier. Our first pair made 48 and slapped the bowling around, unfortunately the slapping didn't continue through the next two pairs and there was a small but defendable 87 on the board.
Their first pair made 46, second pair made it to 76, with only 11 to win from their final pair off 6 overs we were a little worried, but still sniffed victory. After some tight bowling, awesome fielding, a magic catch at the back by Gribbo, we kept them with 16 to get off the last over. They managed to get within 6, but it wasn't enough, we came back from nowhere to snatch it, a great break in for the new team shirts! :)

GAMEX'06 Update 23rd March
Submitted by Reel Extreme on Sun, 2006-03-26 09:19Another 30+ day of tags(sorry I don't know the exact figure) There are in total 177 billfish that have been tagged and released, with only one capture of a 30kg sailfish on 4kg line class so far.
One day to go. (Saturday)
The crew on Reel Teaser caught six marlin today (23/3/06), with Andrew Ettinghaussen (ET) tagging two, Alistair McGlashan tagging three and Tracey Rushford tagging one.
Today was the roughest day and the big boats such as Mahi-Mahi II, Indizara, Waverider, Nordon and Blue Horizon still managed to tag fish and even some of the smaller boats such as Black Label braved the conditions.
Young junior angler Andrew Snook caught a 5kg queenfish on 1kg line, which is a pending State/Australian and World record!

different braids
Submitted by mitch on Thu, 2006-03-02 04:59just wont to ask a question on different braids
i always use fireline in any line class and have noticed it to be one of the more expensive ones to buy .i have tried a few other brands but they dont seem to cut it when it comes ease of tying knots ,knot strenght, abrasive quailities.has anyone out there used the fins prt super braid and how does it compare with fireline .like, is it a stiff wirey line like fireline or is a soft line like ya platypus braids .theres just so many different brands out there nowdays, and the price difference from 1 to another can be quite a lot as well as the quaility any comments on any brands would hopfully help me and maybee a few others.
im asking this as i live in a fairly remote area and cant just whip down the local fishing shop to compare the different :feel: etc

Stolen Uniforms - Fisheries
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Fri, 2006-02-17 10:53Here is the media release for the stolen Fisheries uniforms from last week.
10 February 2006 19/2006
Concern over stolen Fisheries’ uniforms and equipment
The Department of Fisheries is seeking help from anyone with information about a break and enter, in which uniforms, work gear, keys and documents were stolen.
Manager of Central Support Services Greg Finlay said the break and enter on a Fisheries’ vehicle in a southeastern Perth suburb is believed to have occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
“The vehicle was parked at a home in Huntingdale and a passenger window was forced and the thief or thieves grabbed bags and work gear from the rear of the Holden Rodeo,” Mr Finlay said.
“One of the bags contained several sets of uniforms and there were cards and documentation, including a certificate of appointment as an Fisheries officer in a back pack that was also stolen.
“We are concerned that, whoever has taken the clothing and equipment may use it to impersonate a Fisheries and Marine Officer (FMO), so it is important the offenders are apprehended.
“It is important for any members of the public to ensure that the identity of any FMO who may be dealing with them matches the photograph on their certificate of appointment, which officers are required to produce when they are carrying out their duties”
Mr Finlay said impersonating an FMO was a very serious matters and anyone doing so could face a jail term and a substantial fine under the Fish Resources Management Act (FRMA) 1994.
“The Act allows for up to 12 months’ imprisonment and a maximum fine of $10,000 for anyone who might use the stolen uniforms or equipment to pretend they are an authorised FMO,” he said.
“So, before anything like that occurs we are appealing for the return of the uniforms and equipment or for information from any member of the public who knows who may have the stolen gear, which included two pairs of binoculars, rock lobster gauges, documents, note pads, cards and keys.

EGFC GAMEX'06 - Tournament Rules & Regulations
Submitted by Reel Extreme on Thu, 2006-01-19 23:01Exmouth Game Fishing Club
Tournament Rules and Regulations
Gamex 2006
1. All EGFC competitions will be fished within current Game Fishing Association of Australia, Department of Planning and Infrastructure WA, and Department of Fisheries WA rules and regulations.
2. All anglers must be a current member of Exmouth Game Fishing Club or a club affiliated with the International Game Fishing Association or Game Fishing Association of Australia on registration. Failure to do so will require angler to join EGFC.
3. Only registered anglers may participate in any act, which directly contributes to the capture or tag of a fish. They are, driving the boat during tournament, gaffing fish, tagging fish, running out lines, retrieving lines, clearing teasers, taking leader.
4. All Tournament competitors must fish within 60 nautical miles of the Exmouth Post Office, from a boat at sea, with a minimum of two anglers on board.
5. All fish must be claimed on the line class on which they were captured, (ie no line bumping). All competitors are to use IGFA pre-test line.
6. Anglers will fish only from the boat on which they registered. Permission to change boats once registered in the competition must be applied for in writing to the EGFC Committee and each request will be adjudged on its merits. The Committee will meet ASAP after receipt of such application. The Committee's decision is final.
7. A Junior Angler is a person who has not attained the age of 16 years prior to the commencement of the competition.
8. Weigh-In: Fish may only be weighed at the official weigh-in gantry during the times stated in the program, unless otherwise arranged with the tournament weigh master. Anglers must present the fish together with the rod and reel, at least 16m of line, and any double, leader, lure or hook arrangement used in the capture. All tackle must be removed before weighing. Frozen fish will not be weighed. Fish will not be accepted for the tournament after close of weigh-in on the final day.

Weather Forecast
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sat, 2005-12-10 20:08I'm a bit disgruntled at the level of accuracy of the weather bureau after the last two days.. Both were meant to be 8/13 knots s/sw.. both we under 5 knots and unbelievable until around lunch time.. I got fooled twice and didn't go as a result, oh well.. Suppose if i really wanted to go I'd be out there, always next time..
Took my boat for a run on the river on friday morning.. Sweet as, except for the echo sounder.. so might have to look into a new one.. buy myself a chrissie pressie and then should be into it..
Bolts'z boat went in today, engine goes on monday, back probably tuesday.. Look out fishies..
