shock amount of terminal
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Thu, 2017-09-28 15:42unfortunatly had the day off work today so i decided to get stuck in and sort out all my terminal tackle.
after realising i had 6 tackle boxes full of stuff from hooks to lures it was time to clean up. old rigs that never got used along with the slightly rusty hooks went out , just dont trust them. managed to get it down to 3 tackle boxes of good stuff.
Stupid part is there is more things i want to buy
Has anyone else decided to sort their stuff out and got a shock as to how much they actually had.

Registering a trailer
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Tue, 2017-09-26 09:17Hi Gang,
I've managed to pick up a 4.75m stacer hull (no outboard) and trailer for 2k (haven't paid yet, but confirmed I want it). I haven't seen it yet, but know that its a decent rig but have been told that the trailer is un-rego'd and there wasn't any transfer done from the guy that owned it from the original guy, yet it still has number plates on it.
I want to get it down from Karratha to Perth at Chrissy; is it is simple as taking it over the pits? What do I need to consider?
Cheers,
Adam

New zealand touring/fishing
Submitted by Jmac on Sat, 2017-09-23 12:11Hey all,
planning a spring trip to NZ driving from the bottom of the south all the way to the top of the North island, just wondering does every river and stream hold trout?
I plan to have a rod and just stop at every river I pass for a few flicks of a spinner(family trip, not hard-core fishing).
I assume most rivers will have fish, just wondering if anyone has done this kind of thing and how they went?
Anything other than trout in freshwater as well ?
cheers

Buying in the USA
Submitted by Cruise Control on Fri, 2017-09-22 16:53Has anyone had any experience shopping in the USA by using Australia Post - Shopmate ?
Ive been asking questions about getting some electronic gear from the US and so far 2 suppliers have indicated that they don't ship to Aus. Makes it a little difficult when they have exactly what you want but won't sell to you.
Apparently, by utilising Auspost Shopping Mate, you get a US delivery address and then Australia Post take over and bring to you. Rates seem good with few restrictions.
Anyone done this ?
cheers

Building inspections question
Submitted by Michael Yoni on Fri, 2017-09-22 16:13We are currently building a small investment property (from new) and about to have our first inspection.
The builder said that we need to come over and look at each room and identify any problems before final handover.
Friends have suggested we get a building inspector to go through it.
Which we would do anyway....
The question is, can I use any qualified painter to provide me with advice on the quality of the painting (if it is to building standards) or should the building inspector do that. My understanding is that the building inspector primarily looks at the structural integrity etc of things and not "visible brush strokes on the doors" or "sand/dust specks on the painted doors" for example.
Electrician to check that the wiring is done to spec.
Has anyone had any experiences or offer any advice with this.
Yeah we have handed over big bucks to get this completed, but I don't want to be so pedantic that I am picking up things with my microscope and magnifying glass if you know what I mean.
Thanks

This why businesses go broke
Submitted by sea-kem on Tue, 2017-09-19 16:09Bit of a rant. So I look up one of the main battery suppliers in Perth as I want to renew both boat batteries with my boat refurb nearing completion. Ok so find a branch in Bentley which is on the way home, great! So drops in there, this is how it goes: " G'day mate looking for a couple of these batteries" Showing the guy a photo of my 640CCA batts. "Hmm he says I've got the 620's or you have to jump up to a bigger battery, we usually have the 640 but out of stock" Me "Yeah, I deffo want the 640's" Him "Yeah sorry pal can't help you"
Oookay my mind is ticking over, he's about to say he can get them in but no nothing, I'm not asking that's his job as a sales assistant. So where's the effort to make money and business? Obviously very comfortable with his job and paycheck every week, not sure he realises where that's coming from.
Anyways I go to an auto shop just a little further down the highway, same thing no stock but "Really sorry mate but I can have two for you here first thing Thursday morning if that helps?" " I can offer you a $20 per battery discount for the delay"
Absolutely! A nice $460 sale for him and happy to make me an earth lead up then and there. Gee it doesn't take a lot or am I expecting too much

Into the Semis
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Thu, 2017-09-14 22:50I'm still got a semi after last week's game! What a rollercoaster season for West Coast supporters.
My heart tells me that West Coast can win this game as we've matched GWS pretty well twice this season but my head tells me that the boys were absolutely spent even before the extra time on Sat and 3 days in Perth then back to NSW will make it extremely hard to keep up with the GWS mids who overran us on our home deck. With Mummy out we can get the ball to ground but need to make it a scrap in the middle and rely on Mitchell and Pridda to win a lot of contested ball and give our forwards good supply.
I can't see the Sydney machine being stopped anytime soon and Geelong being robbed of another home final puts them at a disadvantage from the get go.

How to use your marine radio properly?
How to “Log On and Log Off” with a Marine Rescue Group?
The correct language to use when using your radio?
What is a “Repeater Station”?
The benefits of registering your vessel with Whitfords Sea Rescue Group?
When can you access the services of a group such as Whitfords Sea Rescue?
How and who to call in an emergency?
If the answers to any of these questions is “No” then perhaps you should attend our Radio Information Night.

Kodiak brake failure
Submitted by Rob H on Wed, 2017-09-13 20:17 When I towed the boat to the ramp the other day, found a piece of disc pad on the ground.
Looked like the friction material had delaminated so I ordered a new set online.
Tonite I popped all wheels off for a look and found another the same also.
Incidentally, ordered them thru Titan Trailer Brakes in Cleveland Queensland the night before last.
And delivered today, less than 48hrs ($18 delivery)
A few weeks back I ordered some CV joints from Vic, delivered in the same timeframe and thats to Gero, unbelievably quick

Finals Are Here
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Thu, 2017-09-07 13:10I'm going to preface this thread by stating I am heading down South tomorrow and will be on the boat or in breweries a lot so I won't be on here much and will probably watch the game down at Stiltz in Busso if I can get a table inside. If anyone can suggest another venue that will show the game besides the stinky Dunsborough Hotel please let me know.
Going to be a few large matches this weekend and I am tipping Radelaide, Sydney, Geelong and... wait for it.... West Coast. Going to be a big Saturday for me and I'm hoping I can tune into the WAFL semi down there.
Carn Eagles and you Black Ducks!
