2011 Sea Eagle Chicks & Black Cockies
Submitted by roberta on Sat, 2011-11-19 13:26Hi all,
As you know I love Sea Eagles, and Black Cockies, on our last trip in October, 2011, took some photos of the breeding pair of Sea Eagles and here are their two chicks from this year, plus a visit from the Black Cockies, this one looked like it went for swim or fly and fell in the ocean, also love my black cockies and they came for a feed in September when the bottle bush was in bloom, beautiful to watch them suck the nectar out of the flowers. The second chick was sitting next to the nest

Narows Sesh 16/11
Submitted by Mavtalon on Thu, 2011-11-17 10:00Decide to hit up the narrows last night for a bit of a mulloway hunt, block of mulies in hand, get the lines out at about 10 and waited for the tide to roll in. come about midnight and we had given up on baits (blowies were out in numbers) switch over to small metal spinning lures (not exactly sure what they are) and as soon as they hit the water tailor were flapping about everywhere. Ended the night at about 3am with 4 30-32cm tailor to my mate and 2 new PB's for me, 37cm tailor and a 47cm Flatty, also my first catchs on lures.

Recent trip to exxy
Submitted by Jimsjams44 on Tue, 2011-11-15 19:57Went up to exmouth about 2 weeks ago, got struck with some pretty average weather early on and some slow days but had heaps of fun and caught lots of fish on lures and artificials on light gear. Spent a couple days trying to find the elusive red emporer for no reward but it paid off when we found a nice spot towards the end :). Heres a couple pics of some fish we got into, I'll get some more up later. It was hard to capture everything with only 2 people... when the fishing is hot, its too hot to pause and take a shot ;)

braving the elements for some reward
Submitted by scottland on Sun, 2011-11-06 13:39me and leemo were getting annoyed at the lack of fishing oppurtunities due to the weather so we decidied to go and just give it a crack.
started at hillaries and as we arrived it absolutley bucketed down so the day started in the car for a good 5-10 minutes
when it finally stopped we caught some zebras? and some buffies which was good fun on light gear
the rain came down again so we high tailed it back to liams but we werent done yet so the plan was made to try for an early mulla or some crabs. well we didn't get of to a good start with no serive station selling river prawns on stirling hwy from the city to mosman. we started of dropping some fish heads in the pots and liam casting a tailor fillet out. as i was pulling the first pot a boat anchored up about 100 m off the jetty was onto what looked like a sizeable fish on some heavy gear. he battled it for 5-10 mins eventually busting off on one of the moorings. he up anchored and took off hahaha. to wrap it up liam caught a 31 cm tailor on an 7/0 hook and a tailor fillet that was longer than the fish that came up.
we caught about 20-30 crabs but maybe only 4 males a whole lot berrying we realeased a few just sized ones to spawn and kept 2 good sized one for a feed. one was a little bit over 160 accross the shell

Albany bream bash
Submitted by Luke R on Fri, 2011-11-04 09:48Hey all
went down south last week and fished a number of spots on the way. Spent 2 days in walpole only to leave early because the fishing was completely shut down. I have never fish walpole before when it has been that bad.
The Hay was fishing ok and managed to pull a few ok fish from there, biggest being 34cm fork which wasn't to bad. Albany was quite shut down however we ended up catching a few fish on the sunday using the new bait breath mosya's. Torbay inlet was suprisingly fishing very well despite almost having no water in there because the inlet had been broken. Was still an enjoyable trip down south and had a great time. Any way heres a few pics

Crayfish - a decade ago.
Submitted by Browny on Sun, 2011-10-30 11:06Sorting out photo's on the 'puter, and came across these old photo's of some crayfish we caught.
They are sitting atop 3 eskies and with some feet in the background you can judge the size.
The 'baby' at the bottom was still well over legal size.
The biggest I could only just grip over the carapace.
I still remember the garlic buter sauce we ate them with!!!

My first and only pike. A 13lb'er.
Submitted by Browny on Sat, 2011-10-29 21:12In April this year, we visited rellies over in the UK. My missus's cousin is a keen fisho, and took me to a gravel pit to try for a pike or 2.
After an hour, we had seen a few small pike cruise slowly past in the shallows amongst the overhanging branches, but no touches.
Half an hour later, I had the only taker for the day....... this 13 lb'er ! Its great to get a double figure fish on the first of a species.
The pressure is now on for me to return the favour to cuz, so when he visits next year, so we've booked in for the Exxy comp to show him some WA fishies! :-)

PE3 - Shallow Water Saltiga+Stella Sambos with Sammy
Submitted by ADDICT- dUFFMAN on Thu, 2011-10-27 14:38Last minute desicion to head out for a jig last night paid dividends,
Headed out with fellow fishwrecked member Sammy
And certainly found the sambos in the 40's
Double hook ups not rare.
Certainly Christened my new Saltiga 4000 with Pe3 got smoked several times by some big fillys.
Sammy also broke in his new Stella 20000.
Approx 10 sambos each i had a few less due to being smoked
After Sammy landed his horse and i was busted off he suggested i try his rod as he was rooted.
Dropped down and snagged the bottom immediately, pissed off finally got it off, and began winding it in with speed to check the damage to the assist.
And got smashed and landed the last sambo of the day, observe photo with sambo and assist still has coral hanging off it!
Sounder Photo was seconds before a hook up
Great Weather and Good Fish
Thanks Again sammy
Cheers Guys
