Zeikel rods
Submitted by JimmyG on Fri, 2015-01-23 11:40Hi Guys,
Has anyone on here used any of their rods?
A mate sent me a link via crackbook and I've not seen or heard of them.
Any feed back would be good, I am considering one of their ultra light overhead jig rods for a Ryoga C1012.
Cheers
Jimmy

Does anyone actually rig a jig with tail assists?
Submitted by Just1morecast on Thu, 2014-10-02 22:36More and more I'm questioning myself about the Japanese jigging techniques and how they seem to rig assists on top and bottom of the jig. Anyone do this? And have you found you've had a better hook up rate or a better loss of jig rate?
Thanks

Submitted by GGs on Mon, 2014-09-08 11:01Hey everyone,
Ive been a long time spectator of the site and finally signed up. This site has helped me immensely so im now hoping i can share what little knowledge i have and also gain some more.
Im in the market for a new demersal jigging rod and was wondering if anyone has used the Yamaga Galahad range before? I am looking at the galahad 604b (6' pe4 overhead) and will be matching it with a Marquesa ma20 running pe3.

Jigging reels
Submitted by Tunatim on Thu, 2014-08-28 06:25Hi
has anyone used either the Okuma Cortez, Fin Nor Offshore overhead 30? For rods, has anyone used the rovex carbon tec or the okuma cedros rods? Also if you know of a good jigging rod and reel under $270 that would be good to know too. It will be used for sharks, jigging for tuna and reef fish and also catching stingrays.

silstar crystal blue jsh
Submitted by troppo22 on Sun, 2014-08-24 22:36hi guys, wondering if anyone has this rod. It's probably 2010 era with a thickish grip.not the split style.I matched it at the time with a Penn spinfisher 850 the US made one for bottom bashing, trolling basically a bit of everything with 50lb braid. It has a great action on the troll but always found it too stiff in the tip for bottom bashing.
Tried out some jigging for the first time on Saturday out near rotto and found it to be a bit cumbersome and seems the balance is off with the spinfisher 850 was Wondering if anyone had ideas on a better reel to suit. Or had experience with it, the rod goes pretty good when connected to something solid. Like mother earth.. Haha.
Cheers

Catalina 4000 rod match
Submitted by LizzleLizard on Thu, 2014-07-24 15:49Hello,
Been stalking forum for years but just made an account.
Been fishing for a long time but never tried Jigging.
Now i can afford it i want to set up a nice combo for demersal jigging.
Don't own a boat but hoping to learn on mates when i can and taking advantage ofdeckying opportunities.
I will be fishing in >80m and running PE2 on a Catalina 4000.
I've searched the forum and JM Fallings Ul and 3 Kings UL come up alot, aswell as Magic Eye Torque. Are there other smaller brands that are better but don't get the same press? Happy to spend up to 700.
What kind of action are you looking for in a demersal rod? Also I've heard JM lacks butt power and folds to the handle... Is that an issue for jigging? From what i gather you dont want too fast an action..
Cheers for any advice

Rod to suit JM PE5 reel
Submitted by ryant3127 on Thu, 2014-07-24 13:17Hey guys.
I am looking to find a rod suitable to pair up with my JM pe5 reel spooled with 50lb braid. It will be mainly for the heavier side of demersal jigging and the occasional sambo and 150-250gm jigs.
I have been looking at a JM 3 kings Light and the fallings light but I want a few other options to look at and living in Albany its a bit hard to see what is around. Can anyone recommend any rod that they have had experience with that would suit what I'm chasing?
Cheers

What size for Perth waters
Submitted by DunkerT on Wed, 2014-07-09 13:37Hey all,
I've never done any jigging before but have watched Paul Worsteling rave about it and catch some decent fish all around Oz. So, I've decided to give it a go.
Problem I have is that I've been given pretty different advice from Tackleworld and BCF. The guy in BCF advised me to go for a Stradic 8000 and a 24 kg rod, whereas the guy in tackleworld has advised a 4000 Exceler and a much lighter rod (think it was 4 kg).
My question is - what size should I be going for in Perth waters? I mainly fish cockburn sound and surrounding areas, I sometimes manage to get out as far as the FADs or the shelf, but only when the weather is glassy, so I'll mainly be fishing up to 100m with the occasional trip to 300m. I'm thinking something in the middle of the two suggestions may be the best plan......any thoughts?
(I'd also like to be able to troll some lures out the back using this rod on the way in and out, if that' possible on jigging gear...?)

Favourite Jigs
Submitted by Belly88 on Mon, 2014-07-07 20:27So its been awhile now since demersal jigging has become a very popular way of fishing and the amount of jigs available to everyone have increased dramaticly so my question is what is everyones favourite jig now days?
If you could only choice one which would it be???
For me, If only one it would still be a 100g Caprice in the pink lumo colour. Nothing really fancy but for the price and ease of use i dont think you can go past them.
so whats yours.............

JM Fallings range
Submitted by adamibinfishin on Thu, 2014-07-03 15:44
Hi guys,
currently been running a couple of the Jm 3kings range of rods and have been fairly happy. Also got a Jm Fallings light in overhead on its way to me and was just wondering if anyone else is using any of these as I haven't played with one yet but couldn't resist ordering it. Thoughts in comparison to the 3kings and anything about these rods in general, cheers
