Parking fine
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 2016-12-10 15:04Hi all, I parked my mates car with boat trailer at ocean reef Marina today to pull our pots, I went and bought the ticket and placed it on the dash. somehow without me bloody noticing the ticket has fallen off the dash and landed next to the park brake out of site. I've returned to the car later on to find the 60 buck fine on the screen. would I be able to dispute the fine since I bought a ticket originally??? bloody hope so

LC200 Electric brake controller installation
Submitted by bsir on Thu, 2016-12-08 21:02Hi Guys,
after a bit of help with installing an electric brake controller to a landcruiser 200 (2014).
I have a Tekonsha P3.
has anyone installed similar into a cruiser?
Which panels need to be removed and any assistance with wiring connections (ie pickup brake signal from trailer plug or trailer module (whereever it is located))?
Thanks

Moving to Carnarvon
Submitted by Silver Fox on Tue, 2016-12-06 16:20Afternoon all.
Long time lurker, occasional commenter yet first time posting. As it says above I'm in the ( very ) fortunate position to be moving to Carnarvon. Following the wife for work so that means no work for me.... yay yippee etc etc . Will be taking 5.5 m centre console and my dingy for creek work. Would appreciate a general point in the right direction for where to go to kill some time when it's not blowing it's tits off !!! Being a windsurfer I'm not too fussed about the five months of howling breezes and will fish whenever it's possible . Big bonus is Gnaraloo being two hours up the road. Any comments would be nice for both the positive and negative sides of living north.
Cheers

06 Dec 2016 4:37 PM AEST - Flouting lobster rules is no game as white walkers set off
As the mass migration of rock lobsters known as “the whites” commences along WA’s west coast, Fisheries and Marine Officers are targeting people interfering with the lobster pots of others.
A 51-yearold man from Sinagra had his 6.5m aluminium vessel seized at Ocean Reef marina on Friday (2 December) and, while the seizure unfolded, four other men were having their cases dealt with at nearby Joondalup court for serious offences from last season.
Zan PETROSKI (aged 47, of Yokine), Stevce KOVACEVSKI (50, from Nollamara), Aleksandar KOVACEVSKI (24, of Nollamara) and Slobodan STAVRESKI (42, from Westminster) received a combined total of $18, 652 for a range of offences in December last year, including interference with other fishers’ lobster pots, following a targeted surveillance operation in the Hillarys area.
In addition to interference charges, Petroski was also convicted of using excess pots, taking totally protected rock lobster, possession of rock lobster flesh and mutilating rock lobster to prevent identification, Stevce Kovacevski for using excess pots and taking protected lobster and Stavreski for using excess pots, mutilating rock lobster and possession of lobster flesh.
The latest of four vessel seizures this season under Operation Bagana and Friday’s court outcomes re-enforces to the community that Fisheries officers take allegations of interference seriously and will continue to investigate and take action.
North Metropolitan Compliance Manager Todd A’Vard commended the hard work of the Hillarys based Fisheries officers and thanked the community members who have reported illegal activity.
“Last Friday’s court case shows our officers will detect and apprehend fish thieves,” Mr A’Vard said. “Hiding rock lobster on your vessel, mutilating breeding condition lobsters and pulling other people’s fishing gear will all get you a day in court – and the consequences will likely be costly.
“Our Fisheries officers are seeing large numbers of fishers do the right thing – a pleasing result from the comprehensive covert surveillance and inspections we are carrying out this season.
“Now the whites have started, we expect more fishers on the water and it will be busy out there, so weight your pots correctly, keep your ropes to the right length to avoid tangles and surface chop-offs and don’t touch anyone else’s gear – and everyone will have a great season.”
Anyone with information about illegal fishing activities is urged not to get involved, but to carefully observe what they see and give FishWatch a call on 1800 815 507.
The State’s aquatic resources are highly valued in our community and everyone should respect the rights of others when fishing. More information on rules and limits is available in the Recreational fishing for rock lobster guide or at www.fish.wa.gov.au, or collect the guide from departmental offices, or Information outlets.

Temperature gauge and probe thoughts
Submitted by Wannafish on Mon, 2016-11-28 15:04Gday guys, having recently driven my 60 series Cruiser to Broome and back, I have decided that I need a bit more info than what the temp gauge gives me. I am comsidering the Redarc gauge with egt and boost, and an optional digital temperature readout. What are people's thoughts on the surface-mount vs probe-type sensor? The probe would give actual water temp (but I am unsure of where to put it as I want to keep the factory gauge), whereas the surface-mount sensor would give actual engine temp, and is easy to fit.... any experience or thoughts would be greatly appreciate!
thanks

Mastiff owners
Submitted by Ashen on Sun, 2016-11-27 22:36Hi guys.
Anyone here own a Mastiff? I will be bringing home a Mastiff X puppy tomorrow and would like a bit of advice.
The puppy is 5 months old and the current owner is not sure what the Mastiff is crossed with. Judging by the body structure, Im thinking maybe a Staffy.
Anyway, are they easy to train and good with young kids etc?
I know questions should be asked before committing to bringing a pet home, but I'm literally saving the puppy's life...hence the late questions.
Thanks in advance!

Worked fine landed a ruby in 300mtrs then next drop would not wind up on the electric. Conection all good and plenty of power in the battery. Anyway had to wind up by hand which was painfull. Dodgy eBay sellers
Submitted by Hudo on Sun, 2016-11-27 10:43In light of my recent debarcles,
I was keen at getting a lowrance radar dome and found one that appeared reasonable priced on ebay
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122234134715?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
a new 4 g was 2200 so not too badly priced, I sent the seller a few messages and the replys were a little off, ie no boxes, instructions or the r10 interface box etc,
just the dome and 1 incomplete cable that was allegedly unmounted.
I finally got a pic of the bar code and low and behold this lovly human is trying to flog off an older BR24 unitas a 4g. The seller did reply it has a 4g sticker but he has decided to keep it after all.... and removed the listing.
It has me thinking all the bits and pieces that get stolen around the country - where and how they get onsold to make money back. ie pushbikes, fishing rods etc.
there has to be a market as otherwise people wouldnt knock it off..

Bait board & Live bait tank
Submitted by lurch on Tue, 2016-11-22 21:13Installed a new bait board/live bait tank today from Baitmate.
Needs plumbing etc but can use the tank as an ice box till that is sorted, the 3 drawers will come in very handy as storage is limited on my boat.
Very impressed with the build quality and can recommend Rod for his customer service also. Nothing was too big a drama and cannot see this one folding under pressure like the last one.
